The current Flu vaccine news

The current Flu vaccine news

In case you haven’t heard, here in Australia the vaccination of children under 5 years of age with the flu vaccine, has been suspended due to large numbers of complications in children post vaccination and the death of one child here in Queensland.

I was just reading a report on WA Today where Professor Jim Bishop referred to the safety record of flu vaccines and I quote “The seasonal flu vaccines have been used for about 40 years with an incredibly good safety record,” he said.

The issue here as I see it, is that seasonal flu vaccines have only recently started to be given to children en mass as a result of the whole ‘swine flu’ debacle (historically they have generally been given to adults) and this flu vaccine is not only a seasonal flu vaccine but also has swine flu vaccine added to it, making it (obviously) a somewhat different vaccine from the normal flu shot.

With regard to the safety of vaccines, their safety simply can not be proven – it is at best assumed – generally due to a lack of large numbers of people reacting immediately after the vaccination, as is currently the case with the flu vaccine that has been given to these little ones. It is only when the effects are immediate and obvious that it is admitted that there may be a problem.

Most of these children have had a severe reaction – severe enough to be taken notice of – but will survive. The question in my mind is what permanent damage has been done to them? There are many questions surrounding the safety of all vaccines and very valid reasons to suspect possible (or probable) long term health effects resulting from their administration.

My opinion from my own research into the information and statistics available on the subject, is that the need for vaccination is being marketed by companies more intent on making profits for shareholders, than on improving the health of citizens- that is quite obvious. It is up to parents to become educated and look at both sides of the argument so that they can make an educated decision.

As a parent myself, I know that unless we look at the debate, we will only hear the mass marketing in the news, on the TV and from friends and well meaning GP’s and believe that that is what is best for our children. This is where I was 29 years ago when my eldest was a baby and even 24 years ago when my youngest was a baby. However by the time my youngest was half way through his vaccination program, I had started to realise that there were questions surrounding vaccination safety and I stopped his vaccinations.

Looking back, I remember my daughter having terrible reactions to her vaccinations – she ran fevers and screamed for hours after. I was told that that was normal. Now I ask why that would happen. Why was she screaming? Screaming as though she were in incredible pain? and I ask myself if those vaccinations are the reasons for some of her past and current health issues, or health issues she may have later in life.

I am just thankful that the vaccination program back then was minimal in comparison to today. There were no flu shots for babies back then!

There are many parents out there that know that vaccinations have damaged their child or children. The problem is when there is not an immediate and severe reaction, and particularly when cases are isolated it really can’t be proven. There are children who are definateley and obviously damaged with Autism or other severe issues, but there are also those that are more subtle.

What about the child who’s just a little delayed in their development. A little slow. Doesn’t learn easily or has behaviour issues. Or the child with constant illness? Would these children have been ‘normal’ or functioned at a higher level if they weren’t vaccinated? We don’t know. Even your apparent ‘normal’ child – would they have been even higher functioning if they weren’t vaccinated? You don’t know.

I’ve wondered about my own health issues that have stuck with me over the years. I had TB and Smallpox vaccinations when we moved from the UK to NZ when I was little. Could they have played a part in my health challenges? I don’t know.

I have however seen the children of friends who have decided not to vaccinate and I know that all of  these children are generally bright, smart  and healthy. The statistics also show almost no Autism in un-vaccinated children compared to high rates in vaccinated children.

I myself know that if I were to have my children over again with what I know now, I would not have them vaccinated. That is a decision that each parent must make for themselves, however parents have to first realise that there are questions and that is the problem. The questions are being hidden and downplayed by those with the loudest voices.

If vaccinations were proven to be effective then the possibility of some health issues could be weighed up and the risk taken with some reason, however the effectiveness of vaccination has never been shown and the reduction in infectious diseases that vaccine manufacturers say is due to their vaccination campaigns, can be proven by the statistics which are publicly available if you care to  look, to be natural decline due to improved living conditions and hygiene or just the natural decline of the disease – in every case!

Here are charts which show the natural decline of each of the major diseases over history prior to the introduction of the vaccine.

This is a subject that we all need to at least get educated on so that we can choose wisely – for ourselves and our children. It’s just a shame that children are being damaged and dying while the debate goes on.
